Dear Journal,I survived another day, despite what you may’ve expected. I didn’t starve, though that almost seemed like a more pressing danger than anything else so far. Despite my expectations, the lights are all still on. I guess whatever automated equipment they use to keep the grid running can go twenty-four hours without human intervention. How long will it take for all the fuel in all the world’s emergency generators to run out? Another day? A week? There were no visible changes to the situation…-

Joseph knew almost nothing about how to be in a successful relationship with a woman. Indeed, he had never been in one prior to the Event, and his brief experiments and attempts had shown him that what little he had learned online and in printed media fell woefully short of the mark when it came to providing useful instruction. So far, he had only managed to discover a few things. The most important thing was that, just like men, women liked it when you spent time with them and cared about the things they…-

June 28, 2015Dear Journal,Welcome to the city of trees! Most trees per capita in the world, that’s what the sign says! I guess it’s… probably not true while we’re here. Two more ponies in one place probably changes the population a great deal. God, what I wouldn’t do for a whole capita. That’d be a colony. Probably plenty of ponies who know more about running things than I do. Let someone better take over. I’ll fix your cars.Okay, probably can’t count on that. Won’t be boring. Got into…-

Jacob learned that day there was a bar somewhere near the roof of the largest structure in Unity, where there was always enough of “the good cider” for every pony returning from a difficult or successful mission. The four of them got a table near the balcony, where those who could fly were free to come and go. “That was about the smoothest mission I’ve ever seen.” Harley toasted with a rough wooden mug, and they all drank (except Danielle, who only had water). The excitement was infectious, blush…-

Can you please explain to me what this is? Probably doesn't look like much to you; it didn't look like much of anything to me except some graffiti. I guess it still looks like that, except for the way the paint looked so fresh. It clearly isn't English or any other language I've ever seen before. Granted, I haven't been exposed to that many. Maybe it's Hindi or something. If the internet was still up, I would take a picture and post it to Reddit and see if anyone there can recognize it. Probably they'd say…-

Dear Journal,Lots happened today so I’ll jump right into it before I collapse from exhaustion. Found some really interesting things, and invented the first shoes for horses. What, don’t believe me? Bet you will soon!Sky is still taking care of the animals. She’s been scavenging for things she can feed to the chickens and apparently succeeding. I never thought chickens were picky about what they eat, but I guess she knows more about that stuff. Farmers.Hey, at least one good thing came of this…-

Temperance“Jackie,” said a voice, so sudden and real that Jackie’s entire reality came crashing into focus. It was a familiar voice—one she’d known for thousands of years. Alex. Where everything else in the universe was transparent and ever changing, the pony that pushed it all aside was violently real. Her coat was sharply green, her mane stark white, and her eyes seemed to cut right through her. “We’re almost there.”Holding up one leg, Jackie could see that she too was transparent. Only…-

Twilight felt like a new mare.It wasn't just that the Radiant Hope, flagship of the Crystal Empire, had a full suite of sanitary facilities. Or that she'd got a full night's sleep. As she perched on the prow of the Radiant Hope, the chill air blasting her clear in the face, she felt as though their recent nightmare might finally be ending. According to the captain they would be landing in the next few minutes. Or... finding somewhere good to drop anchor while those with wings flew down to follow the…-

Twilight prepared for two full days before making the first crossing herself. It wasn’t just that the world on the other side might’ve defied the readings of her probe, though that was certainly possible. “You’re one of the best spellcasters in Equestria, Twilight. Can’t you just go and adapt?”Twilight crouched low over the complex mechanism she was soldering, a necklace of two interlocking pieces of gold. Less than a year ago, such a valuable piece of spellcasting hardware would have been…-

August 11, 2015Dear Diary,I was worried that travel might’ve been difficult, since now a full three months have gone by, but I’m happy to say things have been relatively simple so far. As we got further north, we left the temperature extremes of the south, and diesel fuel here seems to be in good shape (we’re still on borrowed time, but at least we’ve got a little left). That meant we did things pretty much the same these last few days. Cloudy woke up earliest, did her animal stuff, loaded ‘em…-
